Pax Christi Chorale in peak form
By Marilyn Reesor

Barrie Examiner“Melanie Conly, an established and renowned soprano, delivered a superbly expressive performance of Mozart's Exsultate  Jubilate.  Sweet and articulate, her cheerful demeanour belied the fact she was displaying an incredible range of technical vocal skills, particularly during the Alleluia, which moved the audience to a burst of enthusiastic and prolonged applause.”

“In Vogel’s piece, Horrobin was joined by expressive soprano Melanie Conly, who had the one truly funny moment of the evening when she sang a fan’s desperate, 1964 love note to Ringo Starr.”

“ All of the works were excellent, but for me the real gem was Elizabeth Raum’s 1984 2-part vocal composition Men I Have Known, performed by Melanie Conly with Peter Longworth on piano. The first song was (for me) a slow, rather sad, melancholy cry from a woman held back and belittled by the man in her life; the second, a more upbeat song about a sassy, sometimes petulant woman eyeing up an attractive ‘hairy-chested’ man across the street. Conly’s delivery had most of the audience laughing along!”
